interlude

Haven’t been getting into many hijinks over the past few days, as I’ve been catching up on a bunch of random projects. Somehow I got tricked into watching the entire Superbowl with the promise of seeing some mind-blowing commercials, but it wasn’t all that exciting. I was thrilled to see the assembly line robot that dreams of killing himself. Also, that song from the Garmin GPS commercial has been on an endless loop in my head ever since I went to their website and watched the extended commercial (nice jog marketing folks).
Anyway, that’s all I got today.
That, and: I absolutely can’t wait for Lost to start-up again.
ice storm

Today all the local news outlets went wall-to-wall with winter blast coverage. My entire day was spent wearing an amazingly effective rainsuit, as I went from winter adventure to another. Along the way I snapped a bunch of behind the scenes photos, my favorite showing the engineering staff as they went along with a “hose pipe” (that’s a “garden hose” to all you yankees) spraying the snow and ice off the satellite dishes.

My impenetrable rain gear allowed me stand along the road and get completely sprayed with slush by passing semi trucks. It didn’t, however, protect me from all the kids hell bent on throwing snow balls at my crotch.
Anyway, I’m glad to be home and finally thawing out.
