the trillion dollar idea
Okay, so it probably won’t be a trillion bucks. I have no concept of any amount that’s over the Powerball jackpot, but I do know it’s gonna be a ton of cash. On Friday I interviewed Charlotte-based businessman, Devin Green - the inventor of the ESP wireless restaurant technology.

To put it simply, it’s a “push the button on the table to alert your server” technology. There more to it than that, but that’s the main thing. The system has been in use for a few months here at the local chain, Fatz Cafe, and they just inked a deal to put the device in Applebee’s and TGI Fridays. It was cool, and rather inspiring, to have lunch with a down-to-Earth guy who followed through on a cool idea (and is going to end up being a multi-millionaire). I’ll post my segment next week after it airs, or you could just drive out to Spartanburg, SC, if you’re really that interested.

That’s neat. I’ll watch for that at my Neigborhood Bar & Grill. To help you with that concept of a Trillion problem check out this story I did a few weeks back….
What’s a Trillion?
When I was at Fatz over Christmas they just had started using these. I have wanted to use one in many other locales. But it makes me feel like a dick if you use it. BZZZZ “yeah, uh, my water’s got lemon in it.” As cool as it is ( I totally dig the watch display the wait-person wears) I just don’t like it.
Yeah, I’m not sure where I am in the whole button thing yet.
It doesn’t guarantee your server isn’t going to be competent.
But, i guess if the person is a real slaker this device will make it even more apparent.
also, thanks for the link Weaver!
I’m heading there now…
