i just had a pretty kick-ass weekend…
This was despite the fact that I (once again) injured myself in kickball on Friday. The league director took us newbies aside last week to explain the rules, ending with, “…and if you see anyone not drinking, practicing, or stretching before the game you are allowed to kick them in the crotch.” You can see how that little warning deterred me from also stretching before the game.
I was invited into the beta test of a MMORPG video game that I’ve been excited about for well over a year, but I’m restricted from offering any other details due to the “non disclosure agreement” that goes along with it. I doubt they’d ever find out, but I’m gonna play it safe and brag while being all cryptic-like.
Of course, the big highlight of the weekend was the Emmy Award ceremony, held down in the ATL. I was fortunate enough to walk away with three statues this year, in the following categories: news photographer, on camera talent - specialty reporter, and on camera talent - performer. I gotta say: it was cool to be recognized for my gig as a VJ web reporter. And it was especially awesome to win the photog award (along with Chad Zellmer, also from WYFF) when I was up against Southeast photog heavyweights like John Hendon, Kenny Hamilton, and Jon Samuels.
And then today I went to IKEA - which doesn’t sound as exciting as the other stuff I did this weekend, but I thought I’d mention it anyway.

Congrats to the award winning LLR. Personally, I regard a trip to IKEA as something of a pilgramage. We are planning to visit the IKEA in Pittsburgh next week.
