You heard me right: Deep Fried Oreos. I ordered some at the Houston Rodeo this weekend, and was in love from the moment I shoved my hand into the sack filled with hot, fried cookies and powdered sugar.
After twittering this magnificent event, I got a few requests to better describe (or photograph) this delicacy. I snapped this photo with the camera lens shooting right down into the paper sack.

Now that looks like something that’s too good to pass up. Too bad I didn’t know they were there the day I worked at the rodeo. I’m gonna HAVE to find some of those.
I’m from New Jersey and these have been a treat down the shore since before I was born in the early 80s. This is a classic greasy jersey food. My ONE SUGGESTION: fry them with funnel cake batter! Another great friend treat if you google the recipe would be Jersey dogs. Bust that at a BBQ and people will live them.
