Houston – Jones Hall time lapse test

Houston – Jones Hall time lapse from JL Watkins on Vimeo.

While working with the Houston Symphony on a video project, I recorded some sequences with thousands of sfolks attending some daytime performances. Basically this is video that’s sped-up – next time I plan on using a shutter timer an getting an actual time-lapse sequence (possibly with my new tilt-shift lens).

Yeah, Keith Loutit is the tilt-shift master. You should check out his destruction derby video – awesome!

I’m going to start doing some tilt-shift/time lapse stuff this weekend. I just the lens and shutter release timer.

@punky
Oh man! That is awesome (and video is rather awesome, as well).
I definitely need to make one of those – eventually.

I got the Canon TS-E 45mm f/2.8

The 24mmL and the 95mm were both in the same price range, but I wanted something wider than 90, and 24 will start to warp with my full frame camera.

I’m enjoying the lens, but it’s hard to get the exposure right once you start tilting and shifting. I still love my Lensbaby – I just wanted another cool lens in my arsenal (and I’m gonna start ‘miniaturizing’ stuff).
