Eliza loves watching us pack up the house, so much in fact, that she wanted to be part of the action. So I gave her a large wardrobe box to play in (which kept her entertained for about 20 golden minutes), and here’s a few of the shots I snapped while she played.

Yesterday we had about a ten minute window between rain showers to get some photos in the pumpkin patch. Here’s a few of the highlights:

Here’s one of the shots I got while working as a freelance photographer for the “Dr. Oz Show” this weekend. The production came to Houston, holding a massive all-day free clinic in the Reliant Center (which broke records, I’m told). This photo is just one of the many captivating, heartbreaking stories we experienced during the event.
While I can’t reveal the circumstance behind this photo until the show airs, I can tell you how I got it. When all the camera crews from the show piled into the makeshift exam room, I was the only one left without an angle. With the help of some medical volunteers I jumped up on a nearby exam table and sorta fired blindly over the top of the curtain.
I have a reverse image with Oz and the patient in focus, but for some reason I felt like this version resonated more with me. And, as many folks have already asked me: Oz is a decent, cool guy.

Is it Wednesday already? It seems like just a few days ago I was in Austin, snapping photos of my friends Elise and Stiles – half engagement photos, and half just messing around. My favorite backdrop was a mural on Congress Street depicting color bars.

In an odd coincidence, Elise’s blog banner has her in front of color bars, which made this all more fun. Anyway, it was finally great to get out to Austin, if only to confirm what i already suspected: it’s way more fun that Houston, but still not as cool as PDX.
We didn’t see any of the Friday Night Lights celebrities or local rock stars, but were visited by someone who is ‘internet famous’…he photo crashing squirrel!

We decided to take some fun, Texas-sized photos this afternoon, but Eliza was having none of it. But that actually worked out because she looks like a mean, little gunslinger in some of these pics. My caption for this photo was the title, but I’m interested to see what any of y’all might come up with…

Here’s a quick pic I snapped of the studio lighting setup that I’m working with this week, and carefully maneuvering around. I’m taking tons of headshots and publicity stills of the KPRC talent while trying not to trip over any cords and lighting stands.

Of course, the real talent is Andy Patterson, the lighting director. Between him and the fabulous Canon 5DII, I’m just a guy pushing a button. I’ll be posting some of my work as soon as I get the shots processed (and I get the clearance).
